Code Red is about the end of a relationship where both halves aren't on the same page yet. The song is written from the perspective of this lonesome character who lives and works on a fire watchtower, in the middle of no where, cut off from the world. Their only means of communication being a radio. The character is calling in a 'Code Red', an emergency, they don't see this as the end, they aren't on the same page as their partner when it comes to the end of the relationship.
